A native New Yorker, Susan Aquila studied with Reuben Gonzales at Rice University and William Lincer at The Juilliard School. A winner of the Maccabeus Young Artists Competition, she has performed as a solo artist and chamber musician worldwide, including performances in France, Germany, Japan, Korea, the Soviet Union, Spain and throughout the U.S. Susan also has performed recitals at the White House for Presidents George H. W. Bush and Bill Clinton.
In New York City, she has played concerts at the Weill and Merkin Concert Halls, in addition to playing for numerous Broadway shows such as Annie Get Your Gun, Wicked, The Lion King and Amazing Grace.
Susan has appeared on many film soundcheck recordings for Silvercup Studios, and you can hear her backing tracks for many great musicians from the Sony & Universal labels, such as Kd Lang, Tony Bennett and Jimmy Scott, to name a few.
She also regularly plays with the Harrisburg Symphony, Beloit Janesville Symphony Orchestra and the American Ballet Theater.
